Rev. Linda Pevey
Rev. Pevey comes to Preston from Christ UMC in Salisbury, where, from 2011 to 2015, she served as Associate Pastor, and, for the last year, Interim Lead Pastor. There, among many other accomplishments, she developed an adult discipleship ministry that engaged 250 adults in weekly Bible study groups, and established a new women’s ministry.
Rev. Pevey received a Master of Science from Rutgers University in 1983, and a Master of Divinity from United Theological Seminary in 2014. Before entering the ministry, from 1989 to 2005, she ran her own agronomy business, Tower Crop Service. From 2007 to 2010 she served as the Director of Adult Discipleship at Gethesemane UMC at Reliance. She is committed to developing disciples who serve their community, and has expertise in church renewal and encouraging people of all ages to become involved in the life of the church.
Bethesda extends a warm welcome to Rev. Pevey, and looks forward to her guidance and ministry. Please join us Sunday at 10:15 a.m. for her first service, followed by a reception of light refreshments afterwards.
